Hey, I’m Meg!

Meg Padden
Founder of Tampa Fitness Society
Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania (Yes, like “The Office”), I moved to Tampa, FL in 2022 and haven’t looked back. I am 26 years old and currently working as a Sr. Learning & Development Specialist at a steam engineering company where I build and facilitate training programs for employees. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, which is basically the study of human behavior in the workplace (how to increase employee motivation, engagement, productivity, and overall workplace satisfaction).
I grew up an athlete my entire life, having played a variety of sports with basketball and softball being my 2 favorite and best. I played a bit in college as well. My competitive nature from sports and having grown up with an older collegiate athlete of a brother has transformed who I am as an adult now…which is kind of how I ended up writing this blog.
I moved to Tampa not knowing anyone, and quickly realized what an incredible city Tampa is for fitness, wellness and health. I am still working on finding my people… those who are also on a never-ending self development journey. Those who love to stay active, better themselves, prioritize fitness, wellness and self care. I created this blog to find like-minded individuals, form a community, inspire one another, train together, set goals together and become our best version of ourselves together. I am here to provide updates in the Tampa fitness community, apply psychological principles to help motivate you, provide free training tips and guides, local gym and fitness class reviews, and more.
As far as my style of training goes, I am big into Hyrox. I have tried every style of training, but have found that I love competing and having something to train for. I like to run, lift, engage in functional training and also really enjoy hot yoga from time to time. I am a firm believer that any movement is good movement. Whether you are a yogi, love a long walk with a podcast, lift weights, are a runner, or are just getting started… I am SO happy you found Tampa Fitness Society!
